Terms of Use

1. About Explainique

Explainique is a medical education content licensing platform that provides animated pharmacology and medical education videos for commercial and educational use. These Terms govern your access to and use of our website, content library, and services.

2. Licensing Plans

Explainique offers two types of licenses:

• Library Access ($50/month) — A recurring monthly subscription granting access to stream and download videos from the Explainique content library for use within your organization or platform.
• Custom Package ($500/package) — A one-time fee for the production of 5 custom-branded animated videos (~1.5 minutes each) incorporating your organization's logo, colors, and branding.

3. What Your License Allows

With an active Library Access subscription, you are permitted to:

• Stream videos within your organization, platform, or courses
• Download videos for embedding in your own internal platforms, patient education materials, or educational courses
• Use the content for commercial purposes within your licensed organization
• Share downloaded videos with patients or students as part of your licensed services

4. What Your License Does Not Allow

Your license explicitly does not permit:

• Sharing, distributing, or reselling Explainique videos to third parties outside your licensed organization
• Uploading videos to public platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or any social media without prior written consent from Explainique
• Removing or altering any watermarks, logos, or branding from the original video files
• Sub-licensing the content to other organizations or individuals
• Using the content in a way that misrepresents the medical information contained within
• Claiming ownership or authorship of the original content

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Library Access subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorize Explainique to charge your payment method on file each month until you cancel.

• Subscriptions automatically renew each month unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You may cancel at any time through your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• We do not offer refunds for partial months
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice to active subscribers

6. Custom Video Packages

Custom Package orders are subject to the following terms:

• Payment is due in full before production begins
• Each package includes 5 custom-branded videos of approximately 1.5 minutes each
• Two rounds of revisions are included per package
• Delivery is estimated within 3–4 weeks of payment and receipt of brand assets
• Upon delivery and final approval, you receive full commercial ownership of the custom videos
• Custom packages are non-refundable once production has commenced

7. Intellectual Property

All original Explainique content — including videos, animations, scripts, and visual designs — remains the intellectual property of Explainique. Your license grants you the right to use the content as described above but does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

Custom videos produced under a Custom Package become your property upon final delivery and full payment, with Explainique retaining the right to display the work in its portfolio unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Medical Disclaimer

Explainique's videos are produced for general educational purposes only. They are not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The content should not be used as a substitute for consultation with qualified healthcare professionals.

Licensees are responsible for ensuring the content is used appropriately within their professional and regulatory context.

9. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your login details with others. Each subscription license covers one organization only. If you require access for multiple organizations, separate licenses must be purchased.

10. Termination

Explainique reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Use. In the event of termination due to a violation, no refund will be issued. Upon termination, your right to access and use the content library ends immediately.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Explainique shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our platform or content. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 3 months prior to the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of significant changes via email. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
